Look what I got. :)
A language pin! I took the test for Sign Language before my PI was over and I passed! I learned so much in the 10 weeks of the ASL class that I took, I thought I should take the language test and see if I knew enough to pass. Turns out I did! I've wanted to learn sign language for a long time, so having this pin is definitely an accomplishment for me. A dream come true, you might say. ;)
I don't know how the process for getting other language tags goes (the testing for Sign Language works differently than other language tests), but it took 4-6 weeks for my nametag to get delivered to my manager. Since my PI was over before it got to her, my manager mailed it home to me. So it took a little while for my new nametag to get here, but it was well worth the wait!
(Just for the record... These nametags have your hometown on it just like other nametags, but I edited my hometown out. I feel kind of weird about putting that on the internet!)
Hi Jillian! I just wanted to tell you that I was recently accepted as a Conservation Education Presenter for Spring 2012, and reading your blog was super helpful during the application/interviewing process. I'm excited to start in January, and i hope you to continue to update! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! :) I'm so glad my blog was helpful. Reading blogs definitely helped me a lot during my CP/PI time from application to graduation, and I was hoping my blog would be useful too. I definitely plan to keep updating! Thank you so very much for reading!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations again and I hope you have a GREAT time as a Presenter - it was one of the best experiences of my life. You're in good hands now with the Conservation Education managers, but if you ever have any questions about anything for me, feel free to ask! :)
