I think, officially, I am no longer a Seasonal Cast Member. :(
I tried to get back into my Conservation Education Presenter role for January gap, but I was told they weren't going to need anyone, and they won't be having a gap period in June/July because the end of the Spring internship and the start of the Fall internship will overlap. So I have worked 0 hours towards the required amount of seasonal hours since my internship ended, and I think the system purged me. I can't get on the Hub, which I think is a pretty good sign.
I am so very bummed that my time as a Cast Member is officially over. I was holding onto hope that I could make it work out and maybe get back to Orlando enough to keep up my hours. But, for right now, I guess it's not meant to be.
And for right now, sadly, I think I'm going to officially say that this blog is on hiatus. Maybe one day I'll be living in Orlando again and get back to making magic... and you can bet that this blog will be back and chronicling the magic again too!

Formspring: Favorite KDC
Which Kid's Discovery Club was your favorite and why?
oooooo good question! My favorite KDC changed over the 6+ months of my internship - each one of the 6 was my favorite at one point or another. (And same for my least favorite too!)
I think I'd have to say Dinoland (where kids put together a puzzle of dinosaur fossils) was my absolute favorite. Kids get so excited about dinosaurs and trying to figure out which one is which. So many times I'd give them hints about triceratops until I finally got to "It starts with 'tri'..." And then their eyes would light up and they'd scream, "CERATOPS!!!" :)
It was also easy for them to understand the message here - I talked about extinction a lot and how we could help keep animals alive today from going extinct like the dinosaurs did. I also liked to message about learning more about dinosaurs - I'd send them on a mission around Dinoland to find one new dinosaur they'd never heard of before and learn something about it to tell their friends when they got back home.

Formspring: PI Phone Interview
Hi, I am loving your blog! I just applied for PI and got to schedule a phone interview for next wednesday. The department is Travel Agency Sales Planning. I am apprehensive because I don't know what to expect. Can you provide me with some tips? What type

Congratulations on getting a phone interview! I had an initial phone interview for all the PIs I applied to (in quite a few different roles/areas) and then had a face-to-face panel interview for the Conservation Education Presenter internship. The phone interview was pretty similar to the CP phone interview - general questions about your background and experiences, and some "What would you do if..." questions about different situations. The panel interview had more questions that pertained to the Conservation Education Presenter role specifically.
My best advice for a phone interview is to try to stay relaxed and definitely smile! They can tell, even over the phone. :) Also, it helped me a lot to write out some notes ahead of time about education/experience that pertained to the PIs I was applying for, to make sure I'd remember to mention them during the interview.

Formspring: PI Housing
Hi! I think you probably answered this before and you answered part of my question in one of your previous answers, but where did you live when doing your PI? Can PIs live with CPs?
I lived in Cumberland Park, which was right across the street from the CP complexes. Cumberland Park is (or, at least, was as of Spring 2011) the Disney-offered housing for PIs. I don't remember exactly, but I want to say that PIs were not allowed to live in the CP complexes, because I remember wanting to stay in Patterson but wasn't able to. (It turned out that I really enjoyed being at Cumberland Park though!) I don't think there were any CPs living in PI housing either.
