On My CP...

On my CP, I wish I had...
...gone to the parks more.
Even though I worked at the park that closes earliest and therefore had plenty of time to run over to another park after work, or even just hang out at DAK on the nights it was open later, I didn't. I was always tired and I just wanted to go home, take a shower, and relax. But I really wish I had just gone to the parks, especially when work friends asked me to go with them.

...taken more pictures.
I have A LOT of pictures from the CP and I'm really glad I do. But there were so many days with friends where I was having a great time, and I came home with zero pictures. Before I was a Cast Member, on any regular Disney vacation I would have had hundreds of pictures from just one day. During the CP I got into the mindset of "oh, I have lots more days at the parks, I don't feel like taking pictures today..." I wish I had kept my camera with me all the time and had taken pictures like I was on vacation everyday.

...made more friends.
I made lots of friends, and some of those friends are like my new family. But there were lots more people around that I could have met. I lived in a complex with people from all around the world - Korea, the UK, Italy, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Australia, South Africa... I could have come home with an amazing amount of friends from all different places. I wish I had gone down to the pool and just met one new person everyday.

On my CP, I'm glad that I...
...tried new things.
I did a lot of exciting things over the course of my CP. I learned to drive a huge safari truck, first of all. I went to every class at Disney University that remotely interested me. I went to the parks solo. I ate food from around the world. I toured attractions and got VIP seating at shows. I did things that I could only do at Disney, and more specifically, only on the College Program. I had the time of my life and I'm so glad that I pushed myself to make the most of my time and try everything that was offered.

...applied for a Professional Internship.
Even if I hadn't gotten accepted into a PI, the application process alone was a great learning experience. I learned how to put together a professional resume and cover letter, I did mock interviews with one of my managers, another manager arranged meetings between me and the departments I was thinking about getting involved with... It was a very valuable experience and what I learned from it can be applied to any job, even jobs outside Disney.

...followed my dreams.
Participating in and completing the CP has been a dream of mine since high school, and possibly even before that. It feels amazing to realize that I had a dream and I was able to make it come true (in Tiana's words, "It all depends on you!"). I'm so encouraged by this - if I was able to make this dream come true, what else can I do? From here, the possibilities seem endless.
