Presenter Enrichment

The animals at Animal Kingdom get enrichment - activities that are meant to keep them physically and mentally stimulated. And guess what... us presenters get enrichment too!

Ours is a little different from what the animals get, of course. We get to go on field trips around WDW as teambuilding activities. First, we went to the Campfire Sing-a-long at Fort Wilderness.

It was lots of fun! Chip and Dale were there, as promised, and we all roasted hot dogs and smores over the campfire.

The singing along was cute - we even got up to do the Hokey Pokey. They played the movie "Robin Hood" after the sing-a-long. It was a great night!

Our next event was a visit to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

This place is absolutely incredible. We started with dinner at the Mara, the quick service restaurant. I had the African stew and it was delicious! Then we took a walk around the savannah to do some animal viewing. We saw giraffes, sable antelope, cranes, flamingoes - all kinds of awesome animals. Later in the evening we went on a Cultural Safari with one of the savannah guides. He told us all about life in South Africa, his home.

(Africa, as we learned, is pretty big - the US, India, Europe, and Australia can all fit inside with room to spare!)

After that, we got a chance to do some animal viewing in the dark with night-vision goggles. This was amazing! There weren't too many animals out, but we did find a giraffe lying down behind some trees, and we were pretty proud of ourselves. I'd never tried night-vision goggles before - that alone was worth the trip!

We've had lots of fun on our internship so far and we're looking forward to our next teambuilders. Rumor has it we may be visiting The Seas at Epcot...

  2. I was amazed! I knew Africa was big, but it was cool to see how all the countries/continents fit inside.
