A Trip Report... In Pictures!

It has been almost 3 weeks since I was in Disney, so writing a trip report now may be a little silly... But life has been chaotic - midterms and field school applications and, you know, the whole getting engaged thing... ;)  - and I have really been looking forward to writing up a little trip report, so I'm just going to do it.  We'll keep it short and sweet - it will be a trip report in pictures! Less writing, more photos! woohoo!

And on that note, here's a little sneaky-peek into the life of Jillian... I love to take pictures. I'm slowly trying to teach myself the fine art of photography. When August comes around, I'll be the CPer spending all her days off in the parks and resorts with a big DSLR around her neck, wandering around all by me onesie and clicking away, as happy as can be. :)

So with that said, I hope you enjoy this report in pictures! :)

Day 1 - Unexpected Celebrations in Epcot

This was supposed to be a trip to celebrate our acceptance into the College Program. Little did I know, Brian was planning on creating something else for us to celebrate... :)

Brian and I woke up bright and early and drove to Orlando.

We made it! :)

Our room at Port Orleans Riverside wasn't ready yet, so we decided to go play in Epcot, our favorite park, while we waited. On our way in, we found this photo-op that was just too tempting to pass up...

In 135 days, this applies to us! :D

We entered the park and were greeted by the wonderful sights and scents of the Flower & Garden Festival!

And we were also greeted by a HUGE early spring break crowd. People were lined up just to take pictures of the F&GF decorations. And we also got the text message telling us our room was ready... lol. We decided to stay in the park and play for a few hours, and then head back to Riverside.

Our first move was to go straight to Guest Relations, because we have been planning on getting these for weeks...

:D !!!

We were starving by this point so we grabbed lunch at the Electric Umbrella, and then we wandered Future World. We went to the Seas with Nemo & Friends and did Turtle Talk...

"Say 'totally' ... now say 'sweet' ... now say 'totally sweet' ... now keeping say that the rest of the day. Your parents will love it!"

Then we headed to The Land to grab fastpasses for Soarin', but they were already distributed for the day!! Did I mention it was crowded? So we did Living With The Land, which Brian and I both love. :)

New water feature! Awesome! :)

We went and grabbed fastpasses for Test Track, and then we decided to head back to Riverside. We had reservations for dinner tonight at Les Chefs de France, so we dressed up a little bit. Brian also put a very important box in his jacket pocket...

Then it was back to Epcot, just as the sun was setting.

Beautiful... Is there any doubt as to why this is my favorite park? :)

I said we should head around to France to put our names in at the restaurant, but Brian said he wanted to take the long way to see the countries. So we walked past Mexico, Norway, China, the Outpost, and Germany, where we saw some familiar faces...

Snow White & her prince!

And then we got to Italy...

... and you all know what comes next. :)

Then it was off to France for dinner to celebrate!

Our stomachs were still full of butterflies, so we just had a glass of wine and split some appetizers - the escargot and a flatbread with bacon, onion, and creme fraiche. All of it was delicious! We're definitely planning on going back.

After dinner, we went back to "our spot" in Italy and watched Illuminations. The park closed right after, but we were in no hurry to leave. We just wandered slowly towards the exit, holding hands and enjoying being engaged...

And that's the end of Day 1! Day 2 will be coming soon... Hope you're enjoying the trip report so far! :)

  1. First of all, CONGRATS! That's so amazing. I hope my proposal is that amazing when it happens! Second, I absolutely love your pictures. On my first CP, I took probably a thousand pictures in two months. Its so hard not to take pictures all the time!

Anna - I just got my DSLR for Christmas from my parents. It was a total surprise! I'm still trying to figure out how to work it...
