Orlando auditions for the Character Performer role were today, and I really wish I could have been there! Unfortunately, my school schedule wouldn't allow me to go. :( But I wish the best of luck to everyone who went to the auditions today, and I hope it was a blast! :)
For those that may not know, in order to be considered for the Character Performer role, you have to attend an audition. They look at your dancing and acting abilities, and they also consider your height. If you are offered a role as Character Performer after the auditions, you can switch into it from whatever role you were originally assigned. If you aren't offered a role as Character Performer, you stay in your original role.
I have always wanted to go to a Disney audition, and I hope I'll get a chance some time in the future. But I'm a firm believer in the "what's meant to be will be" theory, so I know I'll get my chance when and if the time is right. If it never comes, so be it. I know that just means other things are in store.
So, following this theory, I also know that an Attractions role is exactly where I'm meant to be right now. And good thing, because my excitement for Attractions has steadily been climbing through the roof!!! :) I really cannot WAIT to get there and start learning my role! I keep having dreams about where I might be assigned and what it will be like. I spend far too much time online looking at pictures and videos of Attractions Cast Members doing their thing and picturing myself in their shoes. And sometimes I pretend my car is a Safari truck and I greet my invisible passengers with a "Jambo, everyone!" when I head to school in the mornings... :D
