So next up on the CP chain of events is the acceptance email! It can come anywhere from 2-6 weeks after your interview. I've even read of one person who got their email in 6 days!
For me, it took 12 days. I of course had been checking my email every day (multiple times!) since my interview, but I wasn't really expecting to ever see anything there. Brian and I both felt like we wouldn't hear until the 2 or 3 week mark... that just felt like *the time* for some reason. So I really wasn't expecting to hear anything on the 12th day...
It was a pretty good day - I went out to lunch with a friend, went with my dad to get some gadgets for my brand new fancy Nikon DSLR that my parents gave me for Christmas (!!! totally unexpected! it was amazing!!)... And on the way to the camera store, Brian called me. He sounded really upset...
Brian: Hey.
Me: Hey...
Brian: Check your email.
Me: I can't. I'm out with my dad.
Brian: Oh. ... I got an email.
Me: From Disney??
Brian: ...... Yeah.
Me: WELL????
Brian: ............ I got in.
Me: OMGCONGRATULATIONSI'MSOHAPPYFORYOUICAN'TBELIEVEITOMG!!!!!!!!
The rest of the conversation was pretty much the same thing: Brian giving information hesitantly (since I didn't know if I'd been accepted yet, and he didn't want to celebrate if I was going to go home and find I'd been rejected) and me blurting out inarticulate exclamations of excitement. We hung up so that I could get back to camera goodie shopping with my dad, but I was so distracted it wasn't even funny. I was nervous and shaky and flip-flopping every 30 seconds about what I thought my decision would be. I must be in! No, I can't be in... But I know I'm good enough to get in! But maybe my interview wasn't good enough to get in... But what if I didn't get an answer at all yet???
After an agonizingly long stop at the grocery store, we headed back home and I ran straight to my room. I couldn't even get my fingers to type my email password correctly. Finally, FINALLY, my email came up, and I saw this...

I didn't even read any further than that - "Congratulations!" and "Attractions" and I was jumping off my bed and tearing through the house screaming like a maniac. My mom came and joined in my jumping and screaming. My dad later told me he was outside when he heard me screaming, and he waited to see if it was a good scream or a bad scream before he came in. If it was a bad scream, he was going to get in the car and drive around for a while and let Mom handle my breakdown. ... Dads. :)
I called Brian and we had another celebration on the phone together. I just still can't believe that we both got in, we both got our #1 roles, and we're going to be able to have this amazing adventure together! This is nothing less than a dream come true for me. I spent the rest of the night alternately smiling till I thought my cheeks would explode and sobbing happy tears uncontrollably. After wanting it for so, so long... I could finally officially call myself a WDWCP participant. :)
I went back once I was calmed down enough and read the entire email start to finish. It was wonderful. :) At the end it said that they are looking forward to the magic I will be bringing to WDW and are excited to have me in the Disney family. I'm getting teary-eyed again typing those words!! I really can't wait to get to WDW and become part of the Disney family and start making some magic.
Next step: the PURPLE FOLDER!!! :)
