I pulled up to the dock at the end of a safari the other day and let everyone off my truck. Everyone heads right out back towards the rest of the park, like usual. But out of the corner of my eye, I see a little boy maybe 5 or 6 years old walking up towards me with a big smile. I turn around to say hi and I see he has a birthday button on. I give him a big "Happy birthday!" - he doesn't reply, he just keeps walking towards me. He walks up into the front row of the truck, comes right behind me, and gives me a big hug around the neck. I am stunned into speechlessness... I stutter something about how nice that was and how sweet he is and how much I hope he had a great time on safari. He doesn't say anything this whole time - he just looks at me and smiles, and then runs back to his mom. And then they walk away, going on with their day, oblivious to the fact that I am just about in tears over the magical moment this little boy has given me.
This is why I work at Disney. Magic has no limits here - it can come from anywhere at anytime.
From an anonymous Imagineer:
"The magic is as wide as a smile and as narrow as a wink, loud as laughter and quiet as a tear, tall as a tale and deep as emotion.
So strong, it can lift the spirit. So gentle, it can touch the heart.
It is the magic that begins the happily ever after."
